Summary of Project / Major Outcome /Achievements : For conservation and multiplication of Medicinal Plants having high industrial demand, nurseries have been established through seed sowing and vegetative propagation. Medicinal plants were introduced in orchards and plantation areas for development of sustainable diversified agro-mediculture models in Uttaranchal and Haryana. Cultivation trials for medicinal plants under tree-plantation, trials for biological compatibility with different agroforestry or agro-horticulture species and their growth performance have been studied. For growth performance of various species, experimental cum demonstration plots have been established. Besides this training programmes were also organized for comprehensive awareness generation for viable cultivation under Mango, Populus, Eucalyptus and other tree plantation areas of diverse climatic zones.
