Summary of Project / Major Outcome /Achievements : For documentation of medicinal plant based traditional knowledge and popularization of cultivation and conservation of medicinal and aromatic plants in North-East India, the information was collected in structured and semi-structured questionnaires and through open discussion from local people who have been using customary Naga medicine. Some local Naga medical practitioners were also contacted and interviewed towards collection of data and information on medicinal plants availability. Few Kavirajs (local healers) were also contacted in the process who has in-depth knowledge of particular plants for particular ailment. The collected information was also scrutinized from libraries and secondary sources. The collected information was compiled in the mono-graphs and distributed to the farmers and local people for proper information and awareness generation.
