Herbal Gardens of various kinds are supported to create awareness about traditional usage of medicinal plants.
Government Organizations, Universities, Research Institutes, Govt Aided Colleges, Schools, NGOs, PSU Federations, Cooperatives, and societies including Housing societies etc can apply for the Herbal GARDEN projects.

The Facilitation centres (FCs) provide a service window for growers of Medicinal Plants for supporting cultivation and provide handholding support to stakeholders in terms of technology dissemination, trainings, data compilation & Maintenance
The facilitation Centres work in close coordination with concerned State Medicinal Plants Boards and provide training in the formulation of projects of Medicinal Plants Cultivation and Development and also help the farmers. Further maintain Germ Plasm Banks or the raising of QPM through the FC or appropriate scientific partners identified by FCs.
Model nurseries or Small nurseries meet the requirement of quality of planting material for cultivation assistance through public as well as private sector. A model nursery should on average have an area of about 4 hectares and would cost Rs.25lakhs per unit.
Section 2 (f) of the RTI Act defines 'information which includes record'. Section 2(i) (a) states that a 'record' includes any document, manuscript and file. The operative definition of a 'file' is given in the Manual of Office Procedure prepared by the Central Secretariat, Government of India. The definition of 'file' in the Manual includes 'notes' and 'appendices to notes'. In CIC Decision No. ICPB/A-1/CIC/2006 dt.31.01.2006, the CIC held that file notings are not, as a matter of law, exempt from disclosure. Thus, file notings can be disclosed under the Act.
The Act extends to the whole of India except the State of Jammu and Kashmir [Section 1].
The venue of PBD 2017 Convention will be Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC - Address: 10th Mile, Tumkur Road, Madavara Post, Dasanapura Hobli, Bengaluru – 562123). It is about 19 kms from Bengaluru City Centre and 40 kms from Bengaluru International Airport. Travel time on normal working days from Bengaluru Airport to BIEC Centre would be about 50 - 60 mins and 25-30 mins from Bengaluru City Centre to BIEC Centre.
The 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017 Convention will be held in Bengaluru (Karnataka), India from 7-9 January 2017
